We left the car on Masarykova Street in Židlochvice, where parking is free. On the square, parking is charged.
From the parking lot on Masarykova Street we went to the lookout tower following the green tourist sign. It leads past the old bell tower and soon we left the town. The climb out of town is quite steep, the steepest of the whole route. After a wide path we reached a small forest. The path also descends for a while, but soon we were climbing gently again to the lookout tower. The second part of the trail leads through meadows, which offer a view of the lookout tower itself, and later the wider surroundings. Finally we reached the lookout tower without any problems.
The view is dominated by Pálava. But you can also see the Drahanská vrchovina, in good weather the White Carpathians and perhaps the Alps. From the lookout tower we continued along the wide path that led along the ridge towards Blučina. Soon, however, we turned left and started descending to Židlochovice. On the way we made a stop at the former execution site in Židlochovice. Then we came back to Židlochovice, where we treated the little participants of the trip to lunch in the Pavir pub.
A very simple trip, ideal for families with children. The whole time you walk along wide dirt roads. The elevation is not high. Except for the final climb to the lookout tower, the route would be easily traversed by a stroller. The route is also suitable for dogs.
There is no well or spring on the route outside Židlochovice. But 1 litre of water per person is enough. In addition, there are plenty of pubs in Židlochovice.
From the Výhon lookout tower there is a very good view on all sides. In good visibility you can see the White Carpathians, Drahanská vrchovina and also the Alps.
The route is perfectly safe. It is on wide roads all the time. There is no problem.
There are no refreshments outside Židlochovice. There are more food options in the town. It's good to have some snacks with you.
The lookout tower Akátová věž on Výhon Hill was built in 2009. It is located at 355 m above sea level and its construction is made of metal and wood. There are 76 steps leading up to the observation platform, which is 14.5 metres high. The lookout tower is freely accessible all year round.
