A small car park just outside the village of Nedvědice under Pernštejn Castle. There is also a bus stop near the car park. Parking is free of charge.
After visiting Pernštejn Castle we decided to stay in its surroundings and decided to take a short trip with a view of the castle. We left the car behind the village of Nedvědice in a small parking lot. From there we continued along the asphalt road for a few dozen meters. After less than half a kilometer we turned onto a wide dirt road and started to climb steeply. The climb gradually eased and we were offered our first chance to see Pernštejn Castle. We passed the turn-off to Výří skála and continued along the forest path. It soon turned sharply and continued to another of the viewpoints of Pernštejn Castle. The path continued past the horse pastures. Here we joined the yellow trail and started to walk back towards the castle. We took a short break at the Mary's Meadow viewpoint and enjoyed the view of the castle. At the same time, however, we also saw the black clouds that had reached us. Unfortunately, soon we were hit by a big hailstorm. And so we almost ran the last part of the trip. Fortunately, it's only a short walk from the lookout to the castle. At the castle we left the yellow marker and descended back to the car by the road.
A short and simple hike, mostly in the woods around Pernštejn Castle. However, there is a rather steep climb right at the beginning of the trip. Otherwise, the hike is ideal for families with children or as a walk with the dog. A stroller will not pass the route.
The route is short, just 0.5 litres of water with you. There is a Korejtko well right by the parking lot, but they recommend boiling the water.
The route does not go over any peak. There are several views of Pernštejn Castle and its immediate surroundings.
The only problem may be the initial 500 metres or so along the road where cars sometimes drive. Otherwise, the route follows wide roads or a forest trail.
The restaurant is in the nearby village of Nedvědice.
Pernštejn Castle, which is the most famous castle in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands and one of the most important Moravian castles. It was founded at the end of the 13th century. The castle has been rebuilt and expanded several times. The castle was never conquered, not even during the siege of the castle by the Swedish army in 1645. Currently, the castle is open to the public from April to October. There are several sightseeing tours in the castle.
