The Kaisergebirge is a small but significant limestone mountain range in the Austrian Alps. This mountain range is one of the most visited mountaineering sites in Austria. There are also secured klettersteig routes here.
The mountain range consists of two units. The lower Zahmer Kaiser is generally quieter and largely covered with slash and burn. The second mountain unit, the Wilder Kaiser, is higher, rich in rock spires, towers and massive limestone walls.
