The Cibin Mountains (Munții Cibin in Romanian) lie between the Lotru and Sureanu Mountains. The main ridge of the mountain is grassy and relatively flat. Therefore, the mountains offer excellent views of the surrounding mountain systems. The highest mountain of the range - Cindrel 2 245 m above sea level - is located here. In the lower elevations there are dense forests. There are also lakes in the mountains as a remnant of glacial activity.
